Second graders busy at work reading across texts to become experts on their topics. We took lots of notes and will use our notes to write our last non-fiction piece and to make expert posters. We sure have learned a lot about our topics.
The last day in February is always Rare Disease Day. Mrs. Fasciano takes this day as an opportunity to talk to us about Ichthyosis - a rare skin disease. The students got to feel a fresh orange peel and a dried up one to feel how the skin of a person with Ichthyosis feels when it is and is not moistened with Aquaphor.
At the end of the day we were treated to a whole school demonstration of how to dance with hoops. She even had hoops that lit up!
We are hard at wok continuing our narrative stories about our musical instruments. We picked a musical instrument, named it using alliteration. Then we had to give our instruments character traits.
Having a great time learning how to dance with hoops! Thank you Goshen PTO!
We are working hard at becoming experts on a topic. We started out by using Book Flix, True Flix, and Science Flix on the Goshen Public library website. Then we collected books that we were able to read on our topics. We will then work together to present the information that we are experts on.
Logan is the teacher's helper this week and will help to take photos for our blog. However, since it was such a short week he will continue to be the teacher's helper this week, also!!!!
Tyler and Shayla were on our class representatives for the WOW Wall. They both did a great job on a Math Exemplar Assessment. Keep up the great work!
